Information for new & new to the Band Pipers

Student Pipers:

We are pleased to offer instruction for those who wish to learn to play the bagpipes.  Instruction is free, but students must be dedicated.  The bagpipes are a difficult instrument on a good day.  Daily practice is mandatory.  It takes many years to become proficient on them and pipers will tell you that they are never conquered.  There is deep satisfaction for those who make it!

Students must provide a proper practice chanter and, when the time comes to transition to the pipes (a year or more after beginning lessons), the student is responsible for purchasing their own proper set of pipes.

Experienced Pipers who wish to Join Guns N Hoses Pipes & Drums

All pipers who come to this Band played somewhere else.  Wherever it was had a version of the same music we play.  Because the music is folk music, whomever writes the music makes their mark on it.  Thus, whatever we learn in one band will be similar, but not the same in another band.

Our Band is decidedly more casual than most, but we do require each piper to learn our tunes and play them in the way we play them.

Music for all our tunes is on the "Tunes" page of this website.  There is no password and all music is available for downloading and printing.
